Are you a Color Pencil Artist?
I got a letter from Carola Angrick Nix who is a colored pencil artist. She used clipboards to hold onto her paper as she colored. The large clipboard was
slippery on top of my easel.
I suggested that she try the rubber liner that I used on top of my easel and have her
glue it on the back of her clip board.
(See her photo on left)
This was her reply:
"Hi Danette, . I used an all purpose glue to attach it to the back. The liner is not the thin kind but a thicker brand I bought a Walmart. It works great even with the large drawing board and I have ordered a birch wood panel 24x30 inches for a new drawing board to used with your easel."
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
What can it do for you?
First, it is lightweight and portable with a built-in carry handle
that makes it easy for you to take to classes.
Second, It rotates your work 360°
so it turns your piece for you because its top rotates on ball bearings.
This saves you time from having to constantly pick up your piece to turn
it to the area you want to work on. Easy to operate and maneuver.
Third, it's adjustable and enables you to elevate your work to 3 different heights.
(This is important for wood burners because the elevation allows the heat from
the pen to rise up, which keeps most of the heat away from your fingers).
If you burn on a flat surface you are leaning over your work.
By elevating your workstation it also helps keep the smoke away from your face.
In addition to the 3 levels, it can lay flat for those that chip carve or carve in the round,
while all the time it can move your piece in a complete circle for you as you carve.
Lastly, it's wonderful for those that have disabilities and limited mobility.
The different elevations brings your work closer to you,
instead of you having to lean forward.
Plus, it can help your hand, wrist, neck and back avoid stress and strain.

I have worked with several large items...this basswood owl is 13” x 19”
and is a very heavy piece. I’ve worked on a 22” x 22” piece also,
but that’s the largest I’ve worked on.
The round lazy susan top is 9” in diameter.
I have been receiving requests for easels with stop wedges.
The added wedge will stop the top from spinning freely.
To satisfy my customers, I have decided to offer easels with wedges
for a small additional cost. Shipping and handling will remain the same.

Customer Testimonials
Hi Danette,
I got my easel this week and I love it! It works even better than I anticipated. I use it for Zentangle art-a meditational drawing using 3 inch square tiles. I turn the tile often to complete the patterns that I draw. Using your easel makes it easy to turn smoothly and it sits at a height and angle that eases the discomfort in my back.
I did not see advertising for the easel- I saw Holly Atwater using it at a gathering of Zentangle teachers. She shared the information about your product with all the teachers on the Tangle U Facebook page. I, in turn am sharing it with all the people here in my local area.
Thanks for including some cards that I can hand out.
Sincerely, Lise O., CZT

Danette,
I received my table top easel last week and wanted to let you know that I love it! I saw it at a Zentangle event in Portland, Maine in April. It works just great and I know you will be receiving other orders. I was at an art retreat this past weekend and Debbie T. placed an order for one after she saw mine and Joanne G. Thank you for making a quality product!!

Danette, I just received my easel and want to tell you how happy I am with it. It's going to bring my tiles/journal closer to my eyes than a lap desk does. You asked where I heard about it. I am a Certified Zentangle Teacher and recently attended a workshop in Maine. Holly Atwater had one and put the information on our Facebook page.
Based on the comments I saw it seemed that several people were very interested. I hope this results in many orders for you. Marie S., CZT

Good Morning Danette,
I wanted to let you know, I am finally getting around to testing your easel working on a bigger piece and the board I am using it 24" x 30". It works PERFECT!!! It's birch wood and so it doesn't even need anything to grip the easel surface. The easel turns easy with the board on top, just need to get a little closer to the table edge to allow for the board to turn. Your easel is perfect and it has already paid for itself. I will never regret this art purchase! :) ~ Carola Angrick Nix

Dear Danette:
I received your table top easel today and was delighted
to discover how light weight it is. I’ve been schlepping
around awkward drawing boards for years. I love your
easel and plan to use it for colored pencil drawing. The
lovely thing about your easel is that I can see myself
taking it wherever I go, whether from room to room or
when I’m traveling. I can even use it in the car
during driving trips!
Thank you so much!
I saw your advertisement in Ann Kullberg’s most recent
Colored Pencil Magazine online.
PS: I’ve been sitting in my living room with my easel in
my lap drawing for about 2 hours and have none of my
usual aches and pains from sitting in one
position for so long.
This purchase was a winner! Barbara Minor

Hi Danette,
I recently ordered your table top easel and you sent a note asking for an email to let you know where I learned of the product. I saw it featured in Ann Kullberg’s color pencil magazine and ordered it immediately
as I’m a color pencil artist. I ordered it about 6-8 weeks back but didn’t get the chance to use it until this weekend. It’s a great product and I’ll be using it regularly. I could keep my art at a comfortable level to work and didn’t experience the usual strain from leaning in for long periods of time.
I used a large drawing board on it this weekend, 19 in. x 14.5 in., so the wedge was most helpful so it didn’t rotate and I turned the drawing board as needed. I experimented briefly with a smaller piece of paper without using the wedge and that worked great too. Great job and thanks for inventing it! I’m so glad I ordered it! Crystal W.

Good afternoon,
I purchased an easel from you for my daughter in England who is a colored pencil artist. She has some students who are challenged physically and the easel has been a great benefit to them positioning their work etc.
My daughter is also bed ridden at times and the easel has made it possible for her to work at the same time. I am looking to sending her two additional easels for her studio.
Regards and thanks, M. Bird

Dear Danette,
I LOVE my easel. I learned about it from Anne Kullberg's CP Magazine. I have stenosis in my neck so working any longer than an hour on my drawing or colored pencil work can become quite painful. I have a drafting table at home, but the portable drafting tables are just too wide and cumbersome to cart around to art classes and seminars.
When I saw the story about your easel, I knew I had to have it. I ordered it the same day and it arrived in no time. It's light enough to carry in my portfolio bag and its footprint is small enough that it doesn't infringe upon my neighbor's space in class.
Thanks for the great product,
Paula K.

I love these easels and so do my pyrography students. I've even used mine to work on a piece that was 28" high (hanging off the table edge) so that I didn't have to lean over the table to burn the image. Michele P.

I am a retired engineer and a professional wood turner and woodcarver and I use pyrography on some of my work.
This easel is well designed and well made. It is easy to use and works as advertised.
The price is reasonable for an item of this size and quality.
The table is mounted on a lazy-Susan bearing and so moves 360 degrees. It can be locked in place by a wedge placed between the table and the frame. A wedge is available from the seller as an option.
One feature that I especially like is that the table can easily be removed and replaced. So if the table or its covering should get damaged or if the artist just wants one of a different size or shape, it is relatively easy to do (or have done).
I can recommend the easel to anyone who does pyrography and needs to angle their work for comfort and ease of working.
Regards, John Cobb

"I have purchased your table top easel a few days ago (April 2013) and have had the chance to use it, for a couple small projects. BOY, am I glad I got it.
The ease that it turns, the ability to "lift" the work to a more convenient position; for both seeing your work and hand positioning. Is well... a real pleasure to use. Not having to "hover" over the work piece keeps your hand cooler and your not breathing in smoke or having your breath "cool" your nibs is nothing short of pure joy!
Thank You Danette for "thinking up" this valuable asset to any Pyrographer's arsenal of must have tools! You have thought of everything that makes this such a great piece; the table top "buttons", that keep it from sliding around on any table or smooth surface , to the soft holding surface on the work face of the easel and the four levels or work heights, flat or one of three elevated positions. It all comes together in a wonderful tool to make any job a pleasure!
Danette is a customer oriented Business person too. I had a small problem when I received the easel, there was a small fracture at one of the swivel points. When I contacted her about it, she immediately gave me instructions to return the cracked easel and resent me a NEW easel, all with in just a few days shipping and handling time! In today's e-business world it is refreshing to get such prompt service. I am a very happy "burner"!!!!
Thank You again Danette, it was a real pleasure doing business with you!"

"I have been having a lot of pain in my neck and shoulder.....
The above is the reason I was looking for your table top easel. I take art decoration classes with my husband and a friend, who looked online for me, and found your website. I was so surprised when the easel was delivered so quickly. The first time I checked your website it said that the easel would not be delivered until after 3/20 due to family illness, so I was very surprised I received it so quickly. I used it and it helps greatly.
I have a plate in my neck and I can't stay in one position too long. I would have had to give up art deco lessons had I not found your site.
I told my instructor about your website. Right now I also have bursitis so I'm not doing anything, but I will get back to it."
Thank you.
